About Ecosystem Analytics

Ecosystem Analytics is a boutique consulting company dedicated to helping companies, non-profits, government agencies, and individuals identify environmental impacts and develop strategies for sustainable practices. We assist organizations in developing robust sustainability reporting programs, from developing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and program operator procedures, to analyzing ecolabels for compliance to the new EPA Ecolabel Guidelines. We assist in the assessment of many key Certification Bodies in the environmental sector. We also conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) on products, organizations, and services, to identify areas of significant environmental impacts, evaluate alternatives, compare products, and support eco-labeling and marketing campaigns.

We are experienced in the application of ISO standards for LCA (ISO 14040 and ISO 14044), Environmental Labeling (ISO 14020, ISO 14024, ISO 14025, ISO 21930), and Certification (ISO/IEC 17065). Ecosystem Analytics specializes in robust quantitative analysis and clear technical communication. We are based in Wilmette, IL, but welcome the opportunity to work with you no matter your location, country, or time-zone.

Eileen brings her passion for sustainability, experience in environmental consulting and background in environmental chemistry and engineering research to the projects for Ecosystem Analytics.

For the past 4 years, Eileen has developed a deep understanding of the management, creation, and verification of corporate sustainability reporting through her role as a technical assessor with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Partnered with ANSI, she has evaluated how EPDs, PCRs, and General Program Instructions are created and verified, and has assessed international certification bodies operating ecolabel programs. She has over 15 years of experience in technical writing and scientific publishing and especially enjoys making highly technical topics comprehensible to a wide variety of audiences.

Eileen received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at Northwestern University. Wanting to better understand the production, fate, and transport of pollutants, she obtained her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at Princeton University. At Princeton, she became an expert in environmental chemistry, specializing in the transformations of methylmercury in the environment. Eileen also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences at Harvard University specializing in heavy metal remediation strategies. Eileen has also taught classes in quantitative problem solving in the Sustainability and Environmental Management Program at the Harvard University Extension School.
